LE PATIO is delighted to support the non-profit Care to Dance® – Fit Your Mind by providing a genuine professional dance studio to welcome the “dancers” – people living with Parkinson’s disease – and their family carers.
On Wednesdays and Saturdays, classes are taught by teachers trained in the “Dance for PD” teaching method, adapted to this audience.

Continuing in this vein, LE PATIO is hosting the Care to Dance® professional training, with Maïté Guérin, founder and director of the non-profit, in the presence of neurologist Dr Olivier Bouquiaux.

Beyond providing access to a space for artistic practice and training, the studio has also been the place of research and creation for Maïté Guérin’s choreographic and film project “WHAT IF”. This intergenerational film features unusual pairs: a person living with Parkinson’s disease and a child or young dancer.
Dance is now recognised as a particularly suitable activity for people living with Parkinson’s disease. It improves mobility, coordination and body awareness, stimulates brain plasticity and boosts self-confidence. Dancing together also strengthens social bonds, reduces isolation and awakens creativity and joie de vivre.
