In a drive to strengthen support for choreographic creation, LE PATIO has launched a collaboration with three cultural operators who, like us, are committed to the development, production and dissemination of contemporary dance.
The Théâtre de Liège, the Centre Culturel d’Engis and the Compagnie Irène K / Festival Danse en Ville have all responded positively to this initiative.
From the 2026–2027 season, each of these partners will be able to put forward an established artist, hosted alongside an emerging artist in residence at LE PATIO. This approach aims to support artists at different stages of their careers by offering them a broader, complementary working framework.
Depending on the specific features of each organisation, this support may take various forms: provision of working spaces, support for lighting design, artistic mentoring or inclusion in a programme.
This partnership is intended to be long-term and renewed each season. It is based on pooling our resources, skills and networks in order to offer artists structured support, enabling them to bring their projects to fruition and to look ahead to wider touring prospects
Irène Kalbusch was one of the first to push open LE PATIO’s door, back in 2024, attending our very first residency showings.
As a company, dance school and performance venue, with a rich national and international career behind her, she does us the honour, with incredible humility and generosity, of sharing her multifaceted experience, with which we feel a particularly close affinity.
