LE PATIO

PECA

Bringing dance into schools is one of LE PATIO’s missions: we offer tailor-made sessions, in schools or at LE PATIO, adapted to all levels and all ages, from primary to secondary.

On the programme: discovering what a venue hosting artists in residence is, meeting artists and immersing yourself in their creative world, and movement workshops for a sensitive, lively experience of the body and gesture.

Each project can be designed in connection with the school curriculum or a specific educational project, in close collaboration with your teaching teams.

We make 2 introductory tools available to schools, helping pupils immerse themselves in the world of choreographic creation, understand its stages and challenges, and then be more easily swept up in dance:

  • An educational kit, specially designed for children aged 6 to 12, which introduces dance and its professions in a fun, accessible and interactive way;
  • A danced lecture for teenagers aged 12 to 18, exploring the links between dance history, physical practice and choreographic thinking, whose theme can be adapted to a school project or a specific topic.

Since 2025, we have been able to offer:

5 danced lectures (in Gemmenich, Ouffet, Welkenraedt, Chênée, Herve)

5 one-off dance practice workshops (in Liège, Verviers, Ouffet, Welkenraedt, Herve)

1 more ambitious PECA project over 3 days of sessions and outreach (Waret l’Evêque), in partnership with the Centre Culturel de l’Arrondissement de HUY
